About the organization

Founded in 1962, Inforum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only professional organization in Michigan - and one of a few in the country - that combines strategic connections, proven professional development programs, a respected forum for new ideas, and original research to accelerate careers for women and boost talent initiatives for companies.

Inforum classes, meetings, and events serve a broad range of women in different stages and types of careers - from professionals in for-profit and nonprofit settings to emerging and rising corporate leaders, senior and C-suite leaders, entrepreneurs, veterans, and corporate board members. We also conduct and publish original research on women’s leadership influence.

We work closely with women and companies to help them achieve their goals. We also collaborate with other nonprofits and educational institutions to broaden our reach, stay abreast of current research, and contribute our own original research. Partners include Wayne State University, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, the Center for Automotive Research, and SAE International, among others.

We offer our programs and activities to our nearly 6,000 members in Southeast and West Michigan and also virtually across a wide national and international geography. Our work is supported by more than 100 companies, corporations, and foundations. In addition, in the program year ended June 30, 2025:

  • There were 292 events, affinity group meetings, and other gatherings connecting nearly 8,400 attendees.
  • More than 2,200 individuals were served through more than 45 opportunities for learning.
  • We focused on emerging professionals through our Next Gen Advisory Council and affinity groups in Southeast and West Michigan. The affinity groups attracted 250 attendees over 15 meetings.
  • Mentorship opportunities through our app and targeted events. In the last year, 74 mentors connected with 450 college students and young professionals.

The above were supported by more than 300 volunteers in addition to staff.

Although our mission and emphasis are focused on women, we welcome men. Our membership, ac􀆟vi􀆟es, and programs are open to all.
